Since entering the financial services field in 1998, Jeff Manera has held senior positions in money management, investment advisory, financial editorial, hedge fund formation/management, trading systems/algorithms development and trading.
Most recently, Jeff has held senior partnership positions focusing on private equity/M&A (as both a principal and contracted intermediary), hedge fund structuring/fund start-up assistance and assisting with the creation of various structured debt and equity vehicles.
From 1998 to 2011, Jeff wore the hat of Senior Editor or Executive Editor at six widely-read investment newsletters at advisory services spanning the US and global equity and derivatives markets, with an emphasis on options/derivatives trading, discovering potential takeover stocks/special situations and covering the emerging/frontier markets. He was also well known for his in-depth reporting and analysis of the global and regional markets and economic trends. During this time he also honed his expertise at financial copywriting as he worked extensively with three of the world’s most respected and accomplished copywriters for his own publications.
He has managed the portfolios of several high profile professional athletes in the NFL, structured movie financing deals involving major “tier A” actors/actresses and created complex commodity financial structures designed to capture high margins from commodity flows out of Africa and S. America.
Jeff has consulted for a number of money management firms, advising protective and speculative options strategies, “efficient frontier” and macro-specific portfolio reallocation with specific equity, index, derivative, fixed income, FOREX and alternative investment recommendations.
The conservative stock-picking and diversified portfolio newsletters and advisory services Jeff spearheaded were focused on generating low-risk alpha with a combination of deep fundamental analysis and technical analysis overlays to determine buy/sell trigger points. Jeff is also well-known for his high-beta trading services. The options advisory service Jeff owned and operated as Editor from 2004 until late 2010 employed aggressive volatility-focused strategies and averaged 62% in annual returns (audited by a well-known financial research firm), employing a wide arsenal of options strategies including conservative option strategies for income generation, hedging and risk reduction. Jeff was an early partner and active participant in Options University Strategist, a well-known options education, mentoring and advisory service as well.
